I Love White Stripes

Just a guy and his sister. Raw, hard, and beyond awesome. An all the way up volume love afair between my ears and my soul... This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I am in love with this group and am compelled to turn up the volume on my stereo every time I hear any of thier songs. And yes, you can even find a bit of Bob Dylan in some of them. They're definitely influenced by the best of the best.

Unfortunately, this guy seems to have dropped his sister after hitting it big with a song on the latest James Bond movie. Will he ever be quite as cool? I don't know.

But I do know that his and his sister's previous concoction, White Stripes, is rock that stands ground with the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and any fine and raw rock or punk you could list that catches your soul on fire and brings the trash to the table. And I also know, that if I was a drummer, I'd be rocking out just like her, just as hard, just as raw, just as crashing as it could ever be. (How the heck she looks so calm, though, is beyond me.)

This is the live version, not the original. The original is longer and even cooler than this.

Enjoy.

Something a bit... softer?

White Stripes bonus video. "Blue Orchid" - check out her shoes!!! :

"His" new band.

I know, I know... I'm groovin'. But I miss the sis and that raw sound.

Cool post Frieda. Big Jack White fan. I like what he did with producing Loretta Lynn's CD. Ray Lamontagne has a song on his latest CD about his infatuation with Meg White (who can blame him. Thanks Frieda.

Hmh, I'm going to have to check that out. Do you remember the name of it or have a link?

Isn't Jack just incredible? Jeez. Reminds me of our friend Michael in so many respects (of course Michael is much older now, but the dude can still perform and does.)

I think that they both one a grammy for that CD.

Very nice, thanks Bill.
Crazy to think of Jack having produced Loretta Lynn's album. Huh.
Did you notice that both White Stripes AND Ray LaMontagne both sang Jolene? I thought that was a bit odd.

Okay, never mind let me write that over because it is called Jolene, but it's way not the same song. So never mind on that connection cause there isn't one. lol.
