Dr. No, No More

Sinister Scientist that tried his best to outwit James Bond, died at the age of 91. A ripe old age I'd say. We loved to hate him. He did have that certain je ne sais qua. But he was no mystery man, now, was he.

I am of course speaking of Joseph Wiseman, who among other things was notable not only for his exquisite role as Dr. No, but also as Dr. Adler in the 1986 film Seize the Day, Uncle Benjy in The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, and Fenando Aguirre in Viva Zapata. You've not only seen him in a variety of films, but on television as well (mostly in the 80's). Dr. Albet Tessa On Magnum, P.I.: Birdman of Budapest (1983) And yes, theatre was also a love of his life and he graced the stage there as well. For a complete list click HERE.

Wiseman worked with such greats as Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, Lillian Gish, Audrey Hepburn, Richard Dreyfuss. The list goes on and on.

One could say he lived an exciting life amongs exciting people. He may not have been "the star" in ever role, but would Dr. No, for example, be the same without him? His roles were critical roles, despite their size and yes, he was amazing.

And now, without further ado, let's see this man in action, shall we?
