Friday Night at the Stack N Shack
Got a surprise visit tonight. My sister JT and her fiance Harry came by for a surprise visit. Just came over to pick me up so we could go out to eat. Awesome! I still need spring/summer shoes, so I donned the half spring half winter stylish ensemble. Not to worry, as long as you didn't take me all in, I looked fine. Gag.
We went to their favorite Steak 'n Shake and sat at a booth. Our waitress was a lady who's name was some sort of flower, that's about as much as I can remember.
I ordered an orange freeze, double steak burger with all the regular stuff on it, a side of fries (love those 'cause they're the shoestring kind) and an ice water with lemons (yummy!). I was lucky because my two strips of lemon were really four wedges that weren't cut all the way through. Needless to say, JT and Harold were jealous.
Jt and Harry ordered the same thing as me, but no orange freezes. I'm pretty sure they were jealous about that two, but then, some of us just know how to order better than others I suppose.
Anyway we had a blast. Talked about all kinds of things. We talked about work and work people. We talked about people sitting around us. We talked about the upcoming wedding, the gorgeous engagement photos done by so and so (they're featured on the top of the engagement page, so they're pretty proud of that, so am I).
We also talked about soap operas. JT's hooked on Days of Our Lives, or Days for those akin to the dramatic soap. She watches because it's on after The Ellen Show, which is my all time favorite, which I never watch because I never watch TV, but when I do, it's Ellen (which you can catch on NBC at 1pm central standard time). Anyway, we talked about how they end each scene with a LOOK. No matter what the situation, what the premise, there's always a paused dramatic LOOK or set of LOOKs. Try mimicking that in real life and you'll either get interrupted because someone else will step in to talk, or people with think you have reverse ADD, or people will just think you're plain wacko. We practiced some scenarios. I highly recommend it for its entertainment value.
Afterward we drove around a bit then came home.
So that was my night. An awesome surprise after a trying week. Good to get out unexpectedly. Good to laugh with people just as crazy as me.
So... You gotta Steak 'n Shake in your town?
It's always a good time.
The possibilities are endless...
