HE-HE. I was recently brought some acorns back from Italy. I put a pin through the skin, to help them germinate- only to find they were full of GRUBS.
However- during the spring I found seeds from trees in the Imperial gardens in the Forbidden City. I pushed them into my camera case- where I forgot about these shiny, black pips.
On return to the UK, I found them and thought I might as well have a go growing them. I soaked them for a week and nothing. So, I took a sharp knife to the skin and within days they were sprouting.
It is a good idea to store some nuts for those cold winter months.

There are now three healthy and majestic babies.

You know sometimes you just have to go different routes to get to the end result you want.
