Classical - Rock Music Monday Night Video

I am a major lover of classical music.  People seem to either love it or hate it.  I love it.  I play it.
Often times classical music gets transformed into rock.  When this happens, and happens exceptionally well, my heart jumps that extra mile.

This guy here takes Pochelbel Canon in D to a whole new level.  Check it out.  He's amazing.  And oddly enough (maybe it's just me) he does look a bit like Johanne Pochelbel, doesn't he?

Reminder From a Friend

A friend of mine has had a terrible time being sick this year. Like me, it's rare she ever gets sick. Though it seems the both of us, though in totally different parts of the world, have bee down on our luck when it comes to catching colds this year. Well, long story short, she's taken medicine after medicine, tea after tea, blah blah blah. And nothing really made her feel all perfect. But she did find that a good laugh did her good, got her to forget all her aches and pains. And I remembered, she is absolutely right. Without fail a good laugh can help you forget your troubles and pains better than anything. So if you've been sick or down, remember, just have yourself a good hearty laugh.

Treating People Nice - Even Your Mugger?

So I was stumbling along the web today checking out the latest on NPR. I found an interesting story that I wanted to share. Listen and share your thoughts. I'm not sure what I would have done, or if I'd ever do this, in fact I'm not quite sure how I feel about it but, I really hope it works and has a lasting effect.

Random question of the day

What spells can you cast with magic markers?

Sunday Morning Blooper Bugs

Comic Books! on Tumblr writes: (Blooper) Bunny is an eight-minute Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Greg Ford and Terry Lennon, produced in 1991 by Warner Bros. Animation. Featuring the voice talents of Jeff Bergman and Gordon Hunt. The short is a parody of some of the specials produced for Bugs Bunny’s 50th anniversary the previous year. The short never received its intended theatrical release and was shelved for several years.

Thought this would be perfect for this Sunday morning as this whole past week has felt a bit like a comical blooper to me.

About someone's pet owl

This video is called “Owl loves a good scratch”. I could almost not believe my eyes. Yes it does. Amazing! I had to share it with you guys right away!

I didn't know that people had pet owls, let alone that an owl would be so accepting to being a pet. I mean who does that sort of thing except zoos and living museums, and even then, you certainly don't expect them to think they are a cat or a dog. I'm flabbergasted and can't get enough. I wish I knew someone who had a pet owl so I could try this out. I'd get one of my own but first, it's illegal, and second, I don't fancy cleaning up their mess or feeding them what they prefer to eat, and third of all, if I let them go out hunting, my heart would hurt untill it came home safe and sound.

Now, I wonder which is better, having a girl owl as a pet or a boy owl. And what would you name him or her?

for scarf lovers

Hello and greetings.

These women are having loads of fun with their new scarves. Yes, it seems that in Japan, these sell and they can be bought and are mimicked around the world. Interesting.

While "A Wonderland of Scarves" article is dedicated to women's scarves, you won't find scarves like these in there. But it is curious to think that people would enjoy these, and they're not the only ones.

My article will probably be expanded once cold weather catches up with us again, and I believe an article for men's scarves is warrented as well. I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

Just click on THIS LINK for entrance to the "other" Frieda Babbley blog article, with photos and link to our scarf gallery. Enjoy.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Bee Gees Sunday

Don't knock it till you've rocked it. Despite what you might be thinking, the Bee Gees are cool. Way cool. I'm willing to bet that your first instict, if you are familiar with them, gave your toes a wiggle and there was probably a moment of excitement surging through your body.

Over here in St. Louis, it's warm. Not much of a breeze. Perfectly sunny. Not a cloud in the sky. What leaves are left after neighbors have scrupulously raked their lawns to green, beg to be walked on, crunched underfoot till a dance ensues.

Perfect for some good ol' days Bee Gees tunes.

A simple five minute cure all

Thinking you've got troubles? Can't sleep? Having a bad day? Pains and aches getting you down? A song a day might do you a world of good, depending on the song. A good dose of humor could certainly let your troubles glide. Combine humor with song and dance, and at least for a few moments you've got a bit of happy.

Will Ferrell Speaks Out about the Importance of Insurance Companies

Let me tell you people, this video you're about to see has a lot to say. Seriously. Not only that, but it's sarcasm at it's finest... or is it?

The title: Something Terrible is Happening.
What's it about: Insurance Companies.

It's on Will Ferrell's Website "Funny or Die." But I found this on You Tube this morning.

See why insurance companies really need our support.

Mind you, you may be on this side of the coin:

Thank you and have a thoughtful day.

Have you gotten it in the can?

I haven't but apparently a lot of people are. My sister passed this along to me today. It was passed on to her. I didn't ask her if she's had it in the can, because I really don't want to know.

Some minor but important changes to Frieda Babbley at Blogspot

Greetings friends and readers. Hope all finds you well. We have fallen back so I have saved myself an hours time though I must say it certainly doesn't feel that way. In the morning when the sun is out I will be happy as a clam with a belly full of pearl. Would a clam be happy in such a situation? Well, the finder would be I'm sure.

I've been rather enamored of the soft blues this fall. I'm really not sure why. Especially when mixed with other soft hues of purples and oranges and reds and greens and the like. So as my mood struck me, you'll all notice a fresh and relaxing if not thoughtfully stimulating new layout. I hope you like.

As most of you know, I like to share some of my favorite blogs with my readers. There are a couple that have gone private since my last update. I'm rather sad about this, but alas. At any rate, if you would all scroll below the posts, you'll find a listing of some of my favorite blogs to visit for one reason or another. Please feel free to check them out, and comment if you like. The order in which I have placed them is based on most recent posting. If the blog includes a photo that was placed at the time of first posting, you'll see a thumbnail beside it. Rather nice when that happens.

I'm always open to suggestions of blogs I may enjoy. Big thanks to Jama Genie for spreading the word now and again about blogs she enjoys. I've come across many a lovely blog because of her features. Thanks much Jama!

You'll also notice that my posts here on blogspot are not as often as they normally would be. I'm trying to make the transition to my new place at Eye on Life magazine. I get torn more often than I'd like and end up writing nothing for no one. That will hopefully soon change here and I will be a more frequent writer. Please check back for updates. I'll try to link to posts or add rss feeds. If you don't want to miss out, you can also follow me on twitter or become a free member of eye on life for e-mailed updates. Any questions, please feel free to ask here, via e-mail, or check the FAQ pages for member information.

Last but not least, if anyone would like to donate an article or story to Eye On Life, please do let me know or for more information visit the FAQ pages.

Hope you all are having a groovy great day. Thanks for reading and commenting.
