Pinkpackrat@Play: A Weekend Video for You

One of my most favorite bloggers Pinkpackrat has posted a most wonderful video on her blog Pinkpackrat at Play. I have to say that this is truly one of the most relaxing pieces I've ever heard. It makes me feel like everything around me is perfect. It slows my breathing. It makes me feel like buying flowers and doing something small but special for myself. Taking a nap to this would be so amazing. I'd feel so refreshed and beautiful. Give it a listen, click on the link above... Enjoy.

PS You can also visit Pinkpackrat at Hamburgers and Politics on Eye On Life online magazine - yes, up and running now folks so please go have a look. And you can also find her at Political Packrat on blogspot.

Tuesday Afternoon Fun Time Video

Years a go, not too many, we came across a song that shocked us a bit. It was rather risque to say the least, especially considering its age. It's a vintage piece, we know that, before 1950. Who it's by, we couldn't say. How popular was it? We couldn't say either. We loved it enough to grab it off wherever it was we heard it from and kept it safe and sound.

A few years went by and the thought of this song wandered into our heads. We finally found it again. Listened over and over. And tubeontime, as he's known on YouTube, decided to make a video out of it.

Now here's the question... Do you know what this wonderful indoor sport is?

Dr. No, No More

Sinister Scientist that tried his best to outwit James Bond, died at the age of 91. A ripe old age I'd say. We loved to hate him. He did have that certain je ne sais qua. But he was no mystery man, now, was he.

I am of course speaking of Joseph Wiseman, who among other things was notable not only for his exquisite role as Dr. No, but also as Dr. Adler in the 1986 film Seize the Day, Uncle Benjy in The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, and Fenando Aguirre in Viva Zapata. You've not only seen him in a variety of films, but on television as well (mostly in the 80's). Dr. Albet Tessa On Magnum, P.I.: Birdman of Budapest (1983) And yes, theatre was also a love of his life and he graced the stage there as well. For a complete list click HERE.

Wiseman worked with such greats as Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, Lillian Gish, Audrey Hepburn, Richard Dreyfuss. The list goes on and on.

One could say he lived an exciting life amongs exciting people. He may not have been "the star" in ever role, but would Dr. No, for example, be the same without him? His roles were critical roles, despite their size and yes, he was amazing.

And now, without further ado, let's see this man in action, shall we?

Miley Cyrus raps a Good-bye Twitter

So Miley Cyrus seems to be one of the many who probably could have utilized Twitter to her advantage a opposed to her disadvantage. Instead of turning her Twitter life around, Miley Cyrus has instead decided to leave. Yes, Miss Cyrus is leaving Twitter behind.

Good news? Bad news? Who cares news? Whichever way you want to look at it, the fact remains, she's through with Twitter. Will she be back? Who knows? One thing is for sure, Miley could have used Twitter to her advantage and she still can... if she's willing.

Many people think that twitter is about sharing when you brush your teeth and other menial thoughts and actions of ones every day life condensed into bite-sized morsels. BORING! And yeah, who really cares, overall? The people that this kinds of stuff matters to you could call on the phone. You could even blog about it. Take this in point: Good-bye Twitter (seriously... who cares?)--embedding is disabled on this video, so if you want to see it, you'll need to click on the link and it will take you to the video in another window. The maker of this video has a very good point and supports my view on this what to twitter about issue. And think about it, how much room does twitter leave anyone for expansion or explanation on anything!

Twitter is about making connections and sharing great articles and supporting positions on things that matter to you most. It's about discovering the online world in a way that isn't currently possible in any other instant gratification forum. You can twitter your blogs that talk about pimples if you like. You can twitter or re twitter other people's blogs about their pimples and what they're doing with Noah. But quite frankly, Twitter is not the place to just be saying you're picking your pimples... especially if you're a superstar. Twitter has its uses and very good ones too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Miley Cyrus. I loved her last movie. I enjoy most of her music. Her show is fun to watch. I must make this clear. I am NOT bashing Miley Cyrus' entertainment value. And truth be told she is most lucky for the great entertainers that she has grown up with like her Dad and Dolly Parton, just to name two of the many. I mean how lucky is that to be able to sing with and be sung to by that most awesome gal, Dolly!? But Miley is young yet. And hopes are that all those icons I've grown to love and respect, those iconic figures she has had at her fingertips her whole life, will help guide her through these teenage and early twenties years of hers; cause those years are NOT easy. Miley is trying to find herself in a world of billions. That's not easy for a "nobody" let alone a persona of her stature.

I'm thinking though that these greats should really be teaching her a thing or two about the real Twitter; to at least find someone that will. And I do mean the Beneficial Twitter. The Twitter that she could be using to promote herself and others with, to talk about the wonderful volunteer and charity work she's involved with every week, to get other people involved in helping others, or to give venues of great entertainment value that aren't personal.

No, my advice to Miley is to use this opportunity to her benefit. She's an actress for god's sakes. It can't be that hard to switch gears and contain herself for like two minutes out of her day and share the things that matter to her most in this society. Leave the paparazzi and the gossipers no choice but to report what's there, and not what isn't.

no rush jazz celebration

Well, that was fast. The news is final. Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from the group that is set to buy The Rams. He was a bad business move, apparently. Ya think?! Wat worries me is the fact they this group included him in the first place. I still have no faith in them. Now they need to find a replacement for Limbaugh and of course Limbaugh's money. (FRIEDA BABBLEY: Rush to buy Rams?)

On the bright side, I won't have to hear Rush's name around town in correlation to The Rams. Soooo... it's time to take a nice relax, alone or with some friends. Yes, some Jazz is in order.

This evening, Winston "Mankunku" Ngozi is featured. A Cape Town South African Jazz musician influenced by the great John Coltrane and so many other favorites.

Here are some perfect pieces by the cloth-capped man himself, Winston "Mankunku" Ngozi. And a link to a wonderfully written tribute article by a good HubPages friend of mine, from Cape Town South Africa, Tony Mac, who got to personally listen to this legend's smooth jazz sounds in his home town. Winston "Mankunku" Ngozi died yesterday at the age of 66. Have a read while you listen: The bellowing horn is stilled รข farewell Mankunku

suffering from foot odor

Suffering from foot odor? Dr. Oz had some interesting solutions on his show today.
Apparently there are 3 Ss to foot odor: Sweat, Socks, Shoes. (Na-Dah)

No, my feet are fresh. They smell fresh as a summer breeze, spring roses, soft lavender... But many people, including a child of mine, suffer from stink foot; some worse than others.

What to do, what to do. Here are some excellent tips:

Alum is an ix-nayer of foot odor. Dr. Oz recommends using an antiperspirant (not deodorant) with alum, or medicated moisture control pads with alum. This sucks big time, because alum is NOT good for you! It is said that it links to Alzheimer's. At any rate, no matter what info you use to support or not support this information about the yuckies of alum, I refuse to use anything that has alum as an ingredient.

A tea bath is another option, and one I'd me more likely to use. Make a big foot bath of tea and soak every day for a week and taper off. My suggestion here is to use chamomile tea. Make it strong. Soak soak soak. Chamomile tea kills germs. It acts as an antibiotic (one of the reasons you don't want to drink chamomile with other foods or medications, but this wonderful thing is another blog).

Dr. Oz says to wear cotton socks. My input on this is... definitely. And go even further, go organic. Organic cottons are your best bet.

Other tips from me:

1. Let your feet breathe.

2. Wash your feet as often as possible and be sure they are rinsed well.

3. Make sure your shoes are made from natural materials! Just like your socks, your shoes should also be as natural and breathable as possible.

4. Use a deodorant crystal on your feet after you bath and rest your feet before you start using them. This works. (My daughter attests to that.)

Rush to buy Rams?

Rush Limbaugh to buy the St. Louis Rams? Are you kidding me? Is this a joke? There is absolutely NO way. If this is true I don't know what I'm going to do with myelf. Seriously. If this ever happens St. Louis will be tainted to me. In a big way. Strong words coming from me, Frieda Babbley? Yes. Holy Toledo! Roger Goodell, commissioner, does not want Rush to be in charge of the Rams; especially not after his poo pooing one of our players years ago. I agree. Stick to your guns Roger! Don't let this happen!

Apparently Rush is in a group which includes Dave Checkins owner of the Blues (who used to be part of St. Louis' Ice Hockey team). Thanks much Dave. Please. Blagh!
